Question 60' time w/ chip and filter?

I'm curious as to what kind of 60' times you guys w/ a chip and filter are pulling. My best to date is a 2.01, and the tires didn't spin at all. The truck is definitely getting stronger with added miles. I went to TX Motorplex today to run brackets with 2,650 miles on the clock, and my best 60' was a 2.02. That pass netted a 13.56 @ 100.3 MPH. I am very pleased with it considering it was 88 degrees, 81% humidity, and a pressure of 29.92. My previous best w/ 700 miles on the odometer was a 13.60 @ 100 MPH w/ 78 degrees, 65% humidity, and 29.91 pressure. I had the front F1's at 40 psi and the rears as 25 psi. I was launching off idle to net the best 60'. I feel that my 60' times are .08-.1 off compared to others. What do y'all think?

Cool

Silver-Bolt - Was this with the chip and filter only, or did you have the pulley as well?
William - What were your mods on those runs?

Trevor- JL diablo chip, PSP lower pulley. Next mod will be a JL ram air I still have the stock air box, ect. I think with a good 60ft on a cool day would net 13 flat possibly high 12's on the F1's.

A good thing to do on a cool day is burn those F-1's up, they stick much better.

1.88 60' = 12.88 ET

Cool

It looks like the pulley will be next. I think I just need some good air. I've yet to have that since I bought the truck.

Trevor,

In poor air (85-90^), 29.80" Hg, 50% hum, my truck has run a best of 13.35 down at the M-plex. 1.95 60', but this was at Fun Ford Weekend when the track is really prepped well.

When it gets cooler (like in late October/Nov) then you'll see vastly improved times. I wouldn't worry too much about the ET as the summer goes on.

You and I both have enough experience to know the times will just get worse.

My best 60ft so far has been a 1.93 on F1's and that was at WFC. I went on a cooler night and only managed a 2.07(60ft) 13.30 @ 106, but only made one pass before the rain started. I run 38psi in front and 28-29 in the rear at the track. Oh my launch was running against the brake and about 900-1000 rpms.

Cool

Wes,
You're 100% right. I'm by no means expecting stellar times in this weather. I was just trying to figure out why I cannot get the truck to 60' any harder than a 2.01 when it should be in the mid 1.9 second range. The truck would've run some low-to-mid 13.4's this past Saturday if I could've achieved the 1.95 60' time, and I find that VERY impressive. You could've cut the air with a knife!
I'm just going to wait and see how she does with a few more miles and in cooler weather. Thanks for all of the input guys.

Best 60' on street tires with chipnfilter is 1.93. Most of the time I run closer to 1.95. Tires at 32 PSI all the way around.

Hey Trevor,

I didn't know you could run at the motorplex on Saturdays. I thought that was all bracket racing. Do they have test and tune on Saturdays or something? I went down there Friday night to find the track closed due to rain, it really pissed me off to drive all the way to Ennis and find that they had some localized showers when there was no rain in the forcast.

I need to get down there again to test out my JDM chip and filter. My 60 ft times were around 2.05-2.1 when I ran mine at 1500 miles stock.

How many runs did you get in on Saturday?

trevor:

buy some E.T. streets.

I get low 1.7's all day on my truck.

also, take off the front sway bar. I to didn't think it would do anything to help my launch, but WOW was I wrong! that alone drop my 60 about .05.

ATIDominator,

They run the bracket series on Saturdays. However, you can elect to run time-trials if you want. Then again, they will run the other classes (which get time-trials as well) first, so if there is any down time due to track problems then you will get nixed.

I would just run No Electronics, get 3 time trials and then dial it in if you want to run on Saturday.

Thanks for the info. I have never bracket raced before so I don't know anything about it really, so please excuse my ignorance. What does "No Electronics" mean anyhow? I thought it mean't no PCM on the vehicle but I guess I was wrong. Also if you get three time trials, how does that work? Do they take your best time and then you can't do better during the race or your eliminated?

Is there a web page that tells the rules or something?

PS. Sounds like a BAD *** LX you have there, sounds like you could even beat mine!
