Post Timing chain or belt?

Just wondering if the L has a belt or chain. I would guess chain since every Ford and GM car that I've had has a chain.

The other question for tonight is a friend of mine has a 95 Explorer with the 4.0 V-6. His mechanic said time to do the timing belt since 60k is on the odometer. I think his mechanic is trying to make some fast money. What do you guys think?

Thanks
Andy

The L has a chain.
The '95 4.0 V-6 Explorer has a timing chain.

His mechanic is a dumbass. He'd end up replacing the chain. Anyhoo, I can see doing it after 150k miles. But lord, I took my '87 GT apart after 150k miles and the motor still had a tight chain.
