Cool First Trip To The Track tonight

Made three runs drove an hour and a half, got right in line and went 13:99@ 99 mph 2.01 60ft.next,it sat for an hour and a half tried shifting manually, when i shifted second gear,if felt like the motor shut off.I let completely off and about a second later, the power came back.went 14:15@98 mph W/1.97 60ft.next I let it shift auto and it went 13:72@100 w/a 1.98 60ft.Truck is a '01 w/900 miles on it.has anyone else tried to shift manually? If so,did it do what mine did?Do these times seem about right? The track I was at isnt exactly known for its low e.t.'s
thanks

Pantera,

Unplug the electronic boost control (name?) and you will not lose boost when you shift to second. Don't try to manually shift, just put it in od, and put it to the floor!

Your 60 ft times are good for no mods

Cheers,

...Dwight...

Pantera,

Do you live close to Westminster? Were you at 75-80 dragway? If so, your ETs are going to be slow at least .15 to .2 seconds, along with slightly slower mph. Crappy track with a very slight incline. I used to race my Mustang there and was always "torqued" off about it. Capitol dragway in Crofton is a much better track. BTW, I went to a Lightning get together in Northern VA last night (look at the recent posts from Fast as L and Brian K). Great bunch of guys and gals who were very helpful. I know it might be a haul (hint, bring gas money) but well worth the trip.

Pantera, you probably hit the rev-limiter when shifting it manually. Did it to my 99 PLENTLY of times. Nice to know you have a rev-limiter to keep from hurting the truck. Just let that dang computer do it all and enjoy the ride LOL

Buford,I do live very close to Westminster.I was at Mason Dixon not 75-80.I like 75/80 even better than Mason Dixon.I too used to race my low 9sec Mustang at both places and they both stink. The traction was very good last night though. Not like MIR,but good.Let me know about the next get together, maybe I can make it.I dont mind the drive .Ive had my L for a week and I hit 1000 miles coming home last night. Thanks for the replys
