Post My baby is now home....

Brought home my 2001 silver lightning today. I just couldn't resist. We drove 4hours to go see it and take a test drive and they made me a fair deal. I did not walk away with the moon, but I was in love with this truck. I then got to spend 4 hours behind the wheel to get home. It ran great. My 4 year old son loves it and wants to go for a ride all the time.

I need to go wash it and get the bugs off.

One question, I was watching the boost gauge last night on the ride home and wonder where it should be most of the time. I kept the rpm under 4000 and would only peak at that once in a while. I was trying to vary the rpm on the ride home for the break in and the boost guage did not go over about 6psi as far as I can tell.

Any info would be great. I will be out washing and driving for the next few days.....Later
Paul

Cruising at highway speeds the boost gage will usually just lay on the bottom. It will react with throttle input. Get some more miles on it then push the go pedal to the floor. You should see it up to 8-10. After the pulley install (which is a mandatory mod) you will see about 11-13. Enjoy the truck they are a blast.
