10 grand? OUCH! I have spent less than $1000 on performance mods, no slicks, and ran 13.16. Sounds like you need to get to a dyno. How are your 60' times? If you are running good 60's, you are losing HP somewhere. Trans maybe?

J Man,
Post your complete slips...I am with others...Gotta look at your 60 times and 1/8 time/mph. Somewhere you are loosing speed...
Is there potentially any mechanical problems with your L???? If plugs or coil pack is out, you may be limited. Also, what about pinging?????
I have run 12.97 @ 105 with just chip, filter, ram air and pulley....WIth a fiberglass bed cover on.....
I just put the 01 meter and newest JDM chip in there and ran 13.1-13.3 in the blazing heat......
let us know,

Jerry,
BUT WHAT AM I MISSING?????
Your 12.91 was run at about 85 degrees with high humidity and low pressure. I believe at St. Louis we were at a density altitude of about 2500 ft. For every .5 drop in pressure raises your track altitude 500 ft.
When you get better air it gets to be more difficult to launch especially when you throw in track conditions. On the BFGs I used to launch from idle at some tracks. Lift bars will solve a lot of the problems that come with the 12s and better air. As far as I know you have not had your truck in good air yet on your current set-up.
All jokes aside, with your excellent R/Ts you don't have to worry.

With your mods you should be close to 11's with good air. I have about the same mod's, minus the convertor and gears. Convertors going in tomorrow. I'll post my times Sat.

Ya the air makes a big differance.
I ran a 13.11 with just a chip and filter on street tires. When I ran in real hot weather with the same mods my times were 13.28- 13.34
So If you are running 13 flat in crudy air, you should be in the 12's easy in good air.
Is your pully a upper or a lower pully? I think the lower pully works better no belt slipping.

SUGGESTIONS ANYONE ????
Ya - turn your CAPS off! I'm not kidding. Caps makes it hard to read.
As far as your times go, basically what reality1 said is right on the money. When one compares their truck to others, first look at where they are from. Down here in Florida the humidity and heat are killers to good times. We can't compete with those crazy guys in the upper mid-west with their 40 degrees at night in May.

Hurricane, sorry about the caps, bad eyes!!!!!
you are right about the weather.I was running in 72 degrees last night with about 85% humidity.I guess all the good times come in cooler dryer air.I'll settle for my best of 12.91 @ 105.75 for now,but always trying to go faster!!! As for an earlier comment I have the upper blower pulley, got it before the lower pulleys came out.It may not be the best but it blows the boost guage off the face of the guage,I'm putting in a boost giuage tomorrow to see what the real boost is, like the Ford guages leave a bit to be desired, like oil pressure etc,but I appreciate any and all comments....
Thanks All

I'm thinking a little juice and a bit of weight reduction might yeild some nice smooth 12's

J-Man I'm not sure if you remember me from WFC I was in the final six with the silver 01. I ran across your post. Your 60's look good with the 1.7's, but what is your current MPH? Has it fallen off or is it still around 105 mph? Also the biggest question I have is what is the weight of your truck? To give you an idea I weighed in at Gateway at WFC at 3680lbs deduct 210lbs for me. Another guy weighed in at over 5000lbs with driver. Honestly I think on a good cool night and the humidity isn't high I'd bet you'd go 12.70's or better on a fast track. I don't think your to far off on your times if your trucks heavy. I'm considering going with a power cooler ,and I think that would probably make a huge difference at the track. Nitrous is a sweet deal low cost, consistant, excites fuel and lowers the air inlet temps acting as a seperate intercooler. I'll probably go that way, but with a low dose. What I'd like to see is a high 12 second Lightning motor dropped in a 3000lb car and see what it would do just for grins. Oh one think I didn't see on your list is a drive shaft safety loop
Good Luck,
Bill

Good Luck,
Bill
Hi Bill
Yes I remember you well.My speed has dropped a bit to around 103mph,but your right i think my truck is heavey.I think the stock weight of the truck is 4700 lbs, adding another 185lbs puts me at about 4850.I think a shot of nitrous is pretty reasonable like 50 -75 hp.installed before the butterfly in the throttle body.Ans I do have my JL safety loop.My times are within hundreths of what I was running, and consistent,so I just fordge ahead. Also wanted to let you know your a great guy and am sure glad We got a chance to meet. You might want to consider coming this way in September for our Ford Fun Weekend. It's at Cordova dragstrip, about 15 miles from my house. And hey We have room your more than welcome to stay with us,it's in early september,
You take care, and you did get a little screw job on that last run and the slick track!!!!
