Exclamation in regards to Sal's post!!

In you-alls opinions should I buy the 01 that I ordered...If the L's have such problems, should I just go with something else?

I bought the '01 that I ordered back in November. I'm happy as a pig in....... Well, you know. 3800 miles so far, no problems as of yet. Buy Herbs washers and have the frontend re-aligned, grease your steering stops, and have an open credit card for tires & gasoline.

When I wear this one out I'll probably have a new crate engine sitting here to drop right in.

I'll ditto what Arrested said 'happier then a pig ....'.

Yeah it's got problems, but name a car that doesn't.

I plan on keeping the truck mostly stock (in the way of performance), so if something goes wrong Ford won't have anything to point the finger at.

Naw, it's "all y'all". And y'all keep an open credit card for tahrs 'n' fyool.

And y'all never use "Lightning" and "fyool economy" in the same paragraph, let alone sentence. Y'all'd do best to use separate posts (maybe even separate forums) for "Lightning" and "fyool economy"

Have you test drove an L? If you have drove one and still have to ask if you should choose something else I would say you should look around and pick what you like.I doubt though that you will find any better than the L.

Unhappy

as a matter of fact I haven't driven one, but I will test drive the black one I ordered. I have no doubt that I will love, however I am only questioning the problems I may be faced with.

Once you drive a Lightning it is hard to drive anything else. I have 8900 miles on mine and love it. Then when you kick a vettes *** at the track, it will give you a big grin that is hard to wipe off.

Your question will be answered when you drive one. Besides, what'd you expect to hear on this board? Get the L.

Cool

I bought my 99 Lightning in June of 99, and it WAS the greatest thing since sliced bread. No leaks , a few clunks, but a whole bunch of ***-whipping. Chip, Pro-M, filter non withstanding. I looked to replace my truck with something MORE. And guess what, I found it. If you are undecided, what i tell you will not matter. If you have to ask questions if you should or shouldn't, save yourself the money and but a rt. Yours truley Bruce Fast Gator

Show me a performance vehicle that isn't going to have some problems.

Go for the L, you'll be glad you did.

Lightbulb

My 99L has the clunk. It also has the leaky intercooler. I bought the L to drive casually, and on weekends.
Setting next to the L is a 99 Lexus GS400. It's a wonderful vehicle.
Yesterday I went to drive the Lexus. I had to jump the dead battery, and realized I hadn't driven the Lexus in nearly a month.

It's been 3 months since I aquired my 01 Bolt. Since then, I have had a slipping supercharger belt, a mysterious rattling noise from the steering column, and a piece of **** rattling brake pedal. I tried getting these things fixed from 3 separate Ford dealers and all I got was grief.

I have changed the belt and fixed the rattling noise myself. The dumb *** dealers tell me that the rattling brake pedal is normal so I am going to keep it that way until I get into an accident. Class action law suit here I come!!!

Anyhow, even with all the problems I have had with the truck, I think it has to be one of the coolest vehicles on the market. You get exclusivity, power, utility, and high cool factor all in one vehicle. You can't say that for too many vehicles on the market today.

So, go get yourself a Bolt and a good set of tools. You will not regret it.
