Reddawg : I hope so! These Catz ones look pretty nice...
Oh, hey, I've switched to 2001 tails, so let me see if I can clean up the Altezzas a bit and then you can buy them from me instead of waiting.
Sprio : Had a blast hanging out with you guys again as usual.
I'm definately in for the stock car rentals!

These CATZ lights look like the first thing that has been found that both looks good, has superior light, and may last longer and fit.
For you rocket scientist. What is (Quote from their website). "BOROSILICATE GLASS
Glass utilized in all CATZ lenses. Boron and Silicon are mixed with clear glass to form a lens which is hard and therefore more resistant to cracks, chips, and scratches.
Is this stuff bullet proof or what? I saw no listing on their website for protective covers.
A search of sites for prices revealed the following
MSC WHITE / CL140 $175.00 (55W)
GOLD iRIDIUM/ CL123$198.00 (55W)
HYPER WHITE /CL152 $198.00 (85W) OH YEA
Somebody needs to be the ginny pig and see if these work and if they do, this is a definate canidate for a group buy. Put me on the list first.

noelvm
I just measured my stock ones on my 99 and they are 4 7/8" diameter. Their lens is 3.54" diameter making it a little smaller which may look fine. Certainly if it will not chip, rust, or bust and put out some lite it may be a winner!

I've got some money to burn and really want some clear fogs, so I'll see if I can track down a pair to try out. I'll see about picking up the hyperwhites...
The borosilicate glass is something akin to Lexan, just different composition (better optical quality, but less strength).
Daniel
Dan,
I emailed a guy I buy stuff from to see if he can get these and he always give me a good price. I will post something when he emails me back.

I just received the following message from a guy in California on pricing on the CATZ lites that we are looking at. Hopefully this doesn't violate the rules. He did not ask me to post this and I don't own the company; however, I have bought stuff from him three times and he is a reputable dude. The prices below include shipping.
noelvm
hey noel,
heres the pricing ( includes shipping ) on those lites:
MSC WHITE / CL140 $178.00 (55W)
GOLD iRIDIUM/ CL123 $202.00 (55W)
HYPER WHITE /CL152 $200.00 (85W)
i don't know if the pricing you found on the web included shipping but it is very good pricing, i am coming in a few dollars more if those prices include the shipping....
thanks

Go up to the PAWNS first post and click on the link there for pics. No one to the best of my knowledge has tried these yet on an L. I guess either PAWN or I will have to be the ginny pig. Hey PAWN. Are you gonna buy or am I. Pick a number between 1 and 10 and I'll tell you if you win or lose.

noelvm, lol.
Lemmie just double check again the measurement differences between our stock ones, the CATZ ones and the Raybrig ones. I found a place that makes the CATZ lights with an HID conversion.
w00t. (I'm all about the HID lights these days)
I'll let you know tomorrow if I'm going to grab the CATZ.

My portside fog lamp is totally thrashed. I do not plan to replace with Ford's oem pos because even if they would do it under warrantee it will crack again the first time I drive it in the rain. When do you need fogs, anyway, in the fog and rain, duh. So I stopped by Conejo Off-Road the other day, and even though they are supposed to be a Catz dealer all they had were the PIAA 4" lamps. They are expensive (OK if they last), don't fill the hole very well, and are 55w. Are not our oem lamps 35w? That would mean extensive re-wiring, would it not? And I believe the Catz are also 55w, which would require rewiring. Has anybody tried the Catz, and if so, what is your opinion? Does anyone make a brake duct kit for the L? This might make a lot more sense than trying to richard around with these *****ty fogs.
