Post L owners beware!!!

A beefed-up New Beetle? Yummy.

At first glance, the special edition New Beetle Sport doesn’t look like a muscle car. But once you’re behind the wheel, its power will smack you right in the face. You’ll feel the 1.8 litre Turbo, 4-cylinder, 150 hp engine an d 5-speed manual transmission. Then there’s the real beef: leather sport seats, Monsoon® sound system, and, of course, the "Sport" badge. Mmmm.

I thought you would get a kick out of this! Maybe yummy is supposed to point out that these will be a light snack for the Ls! !

Don't let the Turbo Beetle take you by surprise. I got a hold of one and was surprised when he was able to hang w/me up to 100 mph. After that it was a hammer party for the Black Beast, but he held his own up to that point.

There is a problem all these quick little cars have: So they can beat a 4700 lbs truck with a small modified car, big deal. If they loose, they lost to a TRUCK, big embarrasement.

Just read an article about a company hot rodding the new bugs. Their show piece is a twin turbo all wheel drive unit. On a 4-wheel dyno the had 492hp and 525tq. WOW!

Bob,

Nah, by the time he got off the freeway, he was too far back to see it. Besides, I don't run the N2O on the street and he would have cried that I sprayed a Bug!

Are you still thinkin' about moving down here?

With only 170 hp the competition will be very fierce. The new Integra RSX is supposed to have 200, and the WRX is already out and they are pretty fast. If I move to an area w/more snow I will get a WRX to sit beside the L.
