Cool Go_rila takes a "pee".........

about a third of the way down the track. Two and a half gallons of glycol under your ET Streets is not a good thing.

Thanks to Moonshine, I was able to get to an Auto Zone for a quicky repair job.

well, there's your problem.. you aren't supposed to put your loose change in the radiator tank. :P

seriously though.. which line busted?
what caused it? was it hitting something?
all i see are a mouse, a bird, and a star.

Maybe the Mouse or the Bird chewed through it

Cool

Mouse = hose start point w/ gates clamp
Swallow = inline restrictor positioned originally by Ford crimp/band.
Star = 5/8" x 3/8" splice

The blow-up occured between the mouse and the swallow.

I am assuming that the inline restrictor is for balancing fluid distribution in the cooling system. I have not heard of another incident of this kind. Has anyone else?

Hey Sixpipes, I was wondering if maybe you took a little Pee about the same time Go_rila did?

Glad you're OK and Go_Rila went away unscathed. Must have been a crappy ride!

Cool

Flats Man

The MPF (major pucker factor) Syndrome kept me from soiling the interior although I must admit I could not get to the "john" quick enough when I got back to the pit area.

I did run an 18+ second quarter @ 46mph though.

More details on the day's events here. Look under the TALON heading.

I hope nobody gave you crap for shutting the track down for cleanup. We shelled a rear end 2/3 down the track at 100mph threw the gears out the back along with 3 quarts of gear goo. They did not like that.

Cool

Track guys were very unhappy that I did not slam on the brakes and pull over. Easy for them to say what I should have done, but I never smelled glycol or saw anything being left on the track. The exhaust did make a tremendous amount of steam however.
