Thumbs up 2001 Roush Stage III

I was just reading the July MM&FF and noticed the 12.38@111.31 on radials. Thats some serious numbers..and on 6psi of boost!! The 50k price tag is steep but this car seems to be legit, with full warranty to boot. What do any of you guys think? Worth the mula or not?

Anything is possible.

I have an article w/ dakota RT that had a kenne bell S/C on it pushing 14lbs of boost and the truck barely broke into the 13's. Then I have another article w/ a different dakota, only the 5.2 engine and a powerdyne S/C pushing around 6 lbs of boost and did the 1/4 only a little slower. Read another article w/ a civic and a vortech pushing 9lbs boost and it barely dropped the 1/4 by a second.

So I guess it all depends on the install and overall vehicle setup to maxamize the power.

The radials on the Roush cars are not just any old tire. I have a 97, and it is hard as crap to spin the tires once you heat them up a little. Plus they are really wide.

Jack Roush should be able to build a s/c mustang without any problems. After all, his engineering group did the work on our Lightnings. Wonder "who's" intercooler he uses???

I thought everyone that has posted on this topic knew the L could tow. I guess I missed that one......

Keith: Man, you need to wait till I get the Z before installing your package. Then you could have some before and after comparisons. I'll hopefully be getting a digital camcorder soon. I can ride shotgun while we roll down 2nd Ave waiting to play "camera man"! ....... The only thing I do not like about the Z, is the fact that although I'll have better low end power, I'll lose my top end. Hopefully my future kills will be over with by the top of 3rd.

I just saw that car at Carlisle this weekend. Allied Signal makes the intercooler. The Supercharger tensioner pully setup is almost a clone of the one on the L. Sweet car but there is no way in He!! I'd pay 50k plus for a new Mustang, I don't care what it would do in the quarter.

50 K was for the full package Stage 3 vert, the base Stage 3 with engine and suspension upgrades, and body work can be had for 39K asking price.

I double what Galaxy says...No freaking way I would put 50K on a mustang.....

You could easily build up an older one for 1/2 that and run better #'s.......

Wonder if those I/C's will leak???

I saw the engine picture and the coolant lines actually came out of the side if I remember correctly (Or I wasn't seeing things)....

Maybe its a different setup with the M90....

Acording to the Roush rep I met with, Roush developed the belt tensioner brace for Ford. The car is very quick. The premium convertible is in the mid 50s msrp.

I, uh, may have to borrow your Stang for a few hours if I'm ever up that way, or something. LMFAO!
