If the slotting is done CORRECTLY they will not crack any faster than stock and will actually resist cracking.I have run slotted rotors for the past 2 yrs and have just now replaced with the second ones! I think the biggest problem is no one knows how to break the rotor in.You still need to "bed" the rotor just like the pads. All the "slotted" rotors that I have seen use a flat end mill to relieve them the one that I do don't. Stan, and I dought their are to many people as hard on brakes as me.I am actually on my 3rd set of calipers!!!

I beg to differ with Spike Engineering. I've run half-hour practice sessions on the Buttonwillow (California) long course (3.1 miles, clockwise) using ALL the throttle and 2nd gear to assist the brakes. Magnificent performance! No fade, no uneven pull, no problems. ABS makes it too easy.

Hmmm...

I'll have to try that.

Not sure of the compatabilty with the stock calipers, but you can buy just the rotors and hats from Brembo. More $ than stock, but not at the rate you are going through them.

I feel a 12.xx coming on.

Have you "slotted" all 4 sets that cracked? If so, this is the likely cause of your rotor failures. Those slots (same effect with holes holes) serve as magnificently efficient stress concentrators. Hard to avoid cracking, especially with heavy heat cycles.

I realize that drilled brembos are resistant to cracking, but they are engineered from the ground up for holes. Different than drilling them yourself.

Quit "slotting" the stock rotors. That's crazy.

No wonder you keep cracking them. This truck brakes as good as C5's and Porsche's from the factory. No need man.

If all you're doing is drag racing, then I'd agree.
