Post 987hp & 922lbft

This could be trouble for the L's. 16 cyl, 64 valve, 987hp and 922lbft. The 2003 Bugatti Veyron. No performance numbers yet. Sweet looking car. Oh yeah only $750k. What a bargin. Tough choice one of those or 25 Lightnings for the same money.

I wonder if a chip voids the warranty. who is the Bugatti chip guy anyway? they must be listing the hp to be under 1000 to keep the insurance rate down, or something

Where does the engine develop all that HP --- 12,000 RPM or something --- a visit to the repair depot on a weekly basis

And we complain about intercoolers, and clunks, how about a $4,000 oil change???

If I've got $750k to spend on a car, I ain't worried about a $4000 oil change!

Cool

I wonder how much for a chip/filter costs for this car? Guess it doesn't matter, cuz some cheby fellow would tell you how he could beat ya by 5 or 6 car lengths in the quarter mile

922lbft of torque at 2200 rpm. Ouch! The 16cyl is in a "W" configuration. Some sweet pics in the June issue of Car & Driver.

CornerCarver,

I guess that was my point, we have bought high performance trucks and with that come things that one just has to put up with --- like clunks and intercoolers and . . . . . . but it is worth it to have these trucks

That does not seem like enough rubber on those rims to handle that much HP.

Wonder if you could wear those tires out in a single burnout?
