Go for both.

Just find an empty road to race on so in case something happens.

I wouldn't worry about the Z or sho. You should take both of them.

Of course you should race them...it'll be fun whether you win or...win. Just be SAFE about it...deserted road with no traffic or through streets would be best (or better yet, go to the track for actual timing lights and timeslips).

I am assuming your truck is stock since you didn't say.

The '99 Z28 will be a close race (assuming you are stock). You should be able to get him out of the hole but he may pull on you past 60.

You will murder the Taurus SHO in a really bad way unless he has some nasty surprises up his sleeve (e.g. Nitrous), and even then you will probably still win.

If your truck has a chip and/or pulley your chances are even better. Good hunting!

Race them on an assphault street to 65 you will hook up and pull them hard. Don't do a rolling start with the Z because he will have more top end.

Cool

I own a 97 SHO. In 1/4 mile race you will destroy it. Even with NOS the fastest one is running 13.8@103 right now. If you race him from an 80 MPH roll you might have a little trouble, but should still edge away. They really move at highway speeds, but slow off the line.
The 99 Z28 is a crap shoot, you might win, you might lose. But even if you lose you still get to laugh if its close because you are driving a pick-up and he has a decked out sports car. So its a win-win situation!

Whitelightning99- If you have a chipn'filter you will beat the Z by 2-3 car lenghts in the 1/4 assuming that you get a decent launch!
