I just read over at the Corral that a 01 Cobra ran 13.21@106 w/only a x-pipe and cat-back. This was in Florida in 85F heat and high humidity. This is the first "real" track time I've seen for an 01. First they make some good improvements on the 01 Lightning and now the 01 Cobra is LS1 fast!!
This is great! Ford could be back on top after a 8 year lapse.
I was leaning towards the 02 Lightning, but if the Cobras are that fast that makes it a harder decision. Hopefully we start seeing more numbers like this so we know its not just a factory freak.

I forgot to mention this was on the factory tires! 4.10 gears and an under drive pulley and that thing will go 12.7!!
It seems the 01 Lightnings are considerably faster than the 13.9 Ford lists as well. Too bad they waited for GM to cancel the F-body before giving us some real performance.
