Question Straight Pipes

One of my racing buddies uses straight pipes and he claims they will help out on your E.T and i believe him because of his times and MPH he is running! I want to know who else has tried this or currently running them now on your L and did they help improve your E.T and how much cabin noise is there while cruising at highway speeds.Any input would be appreciated!

I have taken off my muffler and noticed a .2 reduction in overal ET.

From a low of 13.89 to a new low of 13.603, from consistent 14.0s to nothing but 13.8s, and I went on a 7-10or12 run of 13.6s, one 13.8, and a couple 13.7s. All this with the stock airbox, and no chip (with 2 sandbags for weight, and factory tonneau). This was last year, and my best this year is a 13.82@99.8

Guys in regular trucks with exhaust quit pestering you when they hear what your truck has to say. And its pretty good at reminding the fellows in the vettes about that right turn they have to make at the last instant.

It is definatley more intimidating.

As far as sound goes, most of my videos are shot with the straight pipes installed, and a couple with the muffler on. Links in the sig.
