Cool Hallett Racing Circuit, Tulsa OK .... this Saturday ...

All,

This Saturday, a sizable number of 2G L pilots and myself (a raging 2G L nut... had a deposit on a '00 white L, but let it go...long story...) are road tripping to Hallett Racing Circuit west of Tulsa this Saturday. I've been emailing Stan (aka Ruslow) back-and-forth for a while and it seems as though he has a few surprises in his "bag-of-tricks". Stan, I gotta see that gyroscopic video setup you have in the cab and have you explain the whole cryo job on the rotor, as well as your experiences at Buttonwillow and Big Bend. Can't wait to check it all out and make a pass with the video camera in that Beast!
I know we have a few OKC "lurquers" out there. Albert, Alan, Eric, Rick .... if you guys are interested, email me at my2002lightning@hotmail.com. Let's all meet here at Hallett or late in the season at Thunder Valley @ Noble.
My buddy Damon (Level-10, 100HP NOS, etc) here in Tulsa knows of 4 other 2G L owners here in Tulsa he runs with and is wanting to Auto-X at Hallett. Let's try to meet somewhere and roll out of here early. Stan says he will be there around 9am.
Martyr, you had better be there with that silver '01 L and "melon protector" in hand. Hope to see you there, Marty!

Hope to see everyone there,

Ronald

Ron, would really like to come, but I'm on call this weekend and will be working. I've been wanting to see Stan's truck and watch it run with all he has done to it. ThunderValley sounds great, been there several times or maybe sometime earlier if everybody in our area would like to get together sometime. - Rick -

Rick et al,

Sorry you can't make it. On call? Do you work in the IT industry? I do... telecommunications here. Univ of Okla, Class of 1998, MIS.

Your right, Stan's truck is a sight to behold in person with all that he has done to it. It's a chore getting in that crazy thing! The WOT blast down the short straight at almost 90-100mph and the power-slides ROCK! That Simpson 5-pt harness holds a man in there tight while banging through the twisties! A couple of times, I was wondering if Stan was going to keep shiny side up!

Hope to see you at Thunder Valley later in the spring/summer.

Stan, looks like you'll have some friendly L competition out there Saturday. I talked to Damon yesterday and he's looking into auto-xing Saturday.

BTW, Martyr nice kills! Keep 'em up!

Later

Ronald

Cool

Stan,

I'll have the camcorder there along with the Sony digital camera. I plan on getting some tight-in shots of your rig in the tighter twisties to let you get an idea of the load the suspension is taking (like you mentioned last time).
Can you post some pics of the gyroscopic cam-corder setup? I'm sure the rest of "Lightning Land" would like see it too! How is the cam-corder secured inside the setup?
I'm looking into converting the video into .mpg format so someone can post them on their web-site or I can just email them around. That would be classic! I'll be sure and email all the pics around to you and the others afterwards.
I ran into Martyr here in downtown Tulsa and he said there is a 50/50 chance he will be there in his '01 L. It's funny! He just stepped outside the office to check on the L. We've had a problem with spare tires being stolen here in downtown Tulsa. Mine was stolen a few months back. My second one and his spare are both locked down now. Damn thieves!
Well, better get back to work.
Later.
