Lightbulb THOUGHTS ON JDM.

I have read several posts this week regarding JDM and I feel like I need to give my Personal opinion of Jim and his business. I have been associated with Jim for
about 8 months now and I have been very satisfied with my service. I know the lower pulley issue is a thorn in his side, and he has went on the record admitting his
mistakes in this area. I know, I wish, I had my pulley but I do not and I am patiently waiting for mine. I also know, if I wanted a refund Jim would gladly give me
one.
Jim is only a phone call away, 732-780-0770, and if you have any questions regarding the pulley or any other Lightning related topic he is happy to talk to all. I
know he has talked to me numerous times and I never have any problems reaching the guy. I have ran several of his chips, his line mod valve, and the Ford 90 mm
MAF with his custom calibration for it. I have always been pleased with my products from Jim. He has also got me hard to find parts like the 2001 tail lights. The
only problem, I have ever had is the lower pulley which I stated earlier, and I feel very confident I will get it later.
I do not have any track times or any dyno numbers, but I plan to get some dyno numbers soon to share with everyone. I had my truck dynoed stock so I have
something to compare it too. I have a buddy that just purchased a new 2001 and I took him for a ride in my 2000 truck and he could not believe the difference in
the truck. He was shocked on how strong my truck was. Jim is a master at changing the performance characteristics of these trucks. I have worked with him
several hours on the phone to get my truck the way I wanted it. I can not tell you how many chips that have been sent back and forth to get it exactly the way I
wanted it. An example of this is: I now get 18.1 MPG on the interstate. This was something I wanted and Jim made sure that he concentrated on that area for me.
You will not find service like that any where else!! Jim really works very hard trying to please the Lightning community and I am very Thankful for that!!
I know there has been a large amount of bad blood on this board and I hope I do not get flamed for expressing my opinion. I have also gotten very explicit E-mails in the past
attacking me and my association with JDM. That is fine but I have a young son that got the last one before I got it. Please all, lets show some class.

Rob

2000 Trade In- WHY should this post be locked and why were my posts locked as well. This board was designed so that people could share their thoughts and opinions on issues relating to Ford vehicles. Collins8 did not bash anyone nor did I in any of my posts. I am sure if someone posted this same post but only about Sal it would never get locked!! Everyone has the right to post their opinions on this board after all isn't that what these boards are for?

Everyone has a right to voice thier opinion on the boards, whether it be good or bad. The problems start when people come here and make posts that fuel the fire of touchy subjects. The post that Rob made here is perfectly fine by my eyes, he speaks of his positive experiance with a company and does not speak negatively of anyone else. That is how these posts should be.

When you write stuff like this- "I am sure if someone posted this same post but only about Sal it would never get locked!!", that is just looking to start problems. Hankfan, in the past few days, you have dug up PSP related posts and tried to start problems on every one. It is obvious that you are on some kind of mission. Whatever your reasons are, this is not the place for that. As for your comment, are you serious? I know you've been around the board for a while. Don't you remember I was kicked off this site because of the constant badgering and "egging on" by some immature members, forcing me to always have to defend myself and break the vendor rules of the board? It seems to me that you are just trying to do the same.

At first, I was interested in hearing the different opinions/results people have with these chips. Now, I think its dragging down the whole board. Everything that is said about a chip/chip tuner brings in SOME negative comments. So can we give it a rest for awhile guys? I know we have more to talk about than this BS day-after-day.

Or at least change the flame topic. Anyone have any racial jokes? (JUST KIDDING.)

I just find it hard to use a guys name as often as we use JDM's, good or bad, when he is never around to speak on his own position. He isn't here to defend himself or appreciate the gratitude, he didn't show up at WFC, why bring him up so often? I just don't get it. What's the sick obsession?

No please don't

As some of you probably have figured out from my past posts I am a JDM fan.

I agree with collins8 about Jim. He has reburned my chip 2 times to get it to drive just the way I want.

I now have a chip that gives me the road maners I want. It has much better throttle responce, shifts fairly firm, but not to firm, and my millage has gone up over 2 mpg.

If I have any questions he has allways been there to talk to me.

I have to thank the guy who cacelled his order for the lower pully, it will be mine soon LOL.

When I ordered my Lightning in october, I did a lot of research talked to all the tuners. They were all very nice and helpfull to me, and we are lucky to have a some great tuners.

I decided the Superchip module was the one to get, and I am very pleased with Jims version of the Superchip.

Also like Bob I have gotten a few nasty e-mails, because I support Jim lucky thing I don't have any kids who may have read them.

So like Bob said lets all show some class.

I agree that all the infighting has been causing problems lately. I think that sometimes we loose sight of the fact that we all drive and love the same truck and we all have the same goal: to go faster. If we can just focus on that I think a lot of our problems around here would be solved.

As everyone knows I had a big problem with the pulley deal. I did get a refund check on the pulley....I sure hope the check does not bounce!!!LOL
There is still something wrong on the pulley deal. On the "other site" many questions are being asked about them but no one is answering! I'm just glad I'm out of it!

I, like Collins8 and others have had the good response, direct factual information, good products (as promised) and also the frustration of not receiving the lower pulley's as promised.

Jim and the JDM folks since January, when I ordered my lower pulley, have treated me and my questions with respect and fairness. The pulley was the first order I ever placed with them. Even with the pulley delays their professionalism caused me to order their 90mm MAF and filter kit, aluminum drive shaft and reburned SuperChip. All those items came as promised. At the same time I canceled the lower pulley.

No issues, no problems and good service. The truck runs real strong too.

While I don't know what the deal is and have never done more than talk with him on the phone I can't speak on his customer service skills or product management. Everything I know about the guy is hearsay. But it is unacceptable for people to send unwarranted emails to his customers to do nothing more than bad mouth him. There is a difference between warning and just being a jerk. I'm sorry you guys have to deal with that. I am PSP and always have been, if I were to ever get products from another tuner it would be from Johnny Lightning and I know there would be no love loss because we are all friends. I just can't see the logic of defending or badmouthing a guy in a place where he is a ghost. For all intents and purposes, he doesn't exist to be "talked to" Do you see my point? We're all friends, do the Camaro guys sit around and **** and moan this much?

Every couple months we get a bunch of posts that essentially say “ I ran a XX.XXX ¼ mile with my RED chip and RED chips are the best. All you guys with BLUE chips suck because your chips aren’t RED. Mr Blue, the Guy who burns Blue chips is an idiot because he doesn’t burn red chips…”

The posts that were locked had degraded to attacks on people rather than discussions of Ford Trucks or products related to them. The purpose of this Forum and the others on this site is to Discuss Ford trucks, specifically Lightning’s. If the example above had stopped after the first sentence there would be no problem.

Before you assume that I am in one camp or another you should spend some time reading some of my posts from the past 18 months or so. I have never met Sal or JDM or JL or Steve or any of the folks outside Texas. And I try my best to be even handed, but if one group is consistently posting inflammatory emails then they will get closed and it will appear that only that groups threads gets closed.

If you have a question about why I locked a post send me an email - My address is posted here about 500 times and is linked off my handle at the top of the forum.

If you think I have a preference for one type of post over another you are absolutely right I do. I prefer posts that don’t directly attack other people.

I am off my soapbox now....
