Wink PSP Dyno session

Hey all, Sal here. Just had a small dyno session here in NY. We were supposed to have 5 or 6 trucks, but a few couldn't make it last minute, so it was just Spiro, Harvey from Staten Island and myself. Harvey has a brand new 01, with just a filter kit and PSP lower pulley on it, and 400 miles on the clock. My truck is the same pretty much, just with a fresh motor. All stock Ford parts, but only 250 miles on the rebuild. Still, I had to know if it was making good power or not. Spiro's truck we were tuning with the 100shot NX wet kit.

Weather conditions for the dyno- 29.64 BP, 46% RH, and about 85 degrees temp.

First up Harvey's 01. Stock numbers were 333rwhp and 410rwtq. Air/fuel on the 01s is about as lean as you can safely go right from Ford, so I used other areas to tune. In the end, we were able to get 363rwhp and 437rwtq. The pulley lowered the torque curve nie for better off the line acceleration, and the power curve was smoothed out nicely. We were happy with the results. The trucks don't make anymore power than this really without other mods.

Harvey's Dyno Graph, blue is no chip, and red is after dyno tune.

Next up was my truck. It baselined at 387rwhp and 452rwtq. Not bad, I was happy to see it pulling about where it left off last year before the motor started going south. After I was done tuning we got 410rwhp and 473rwtq, so I guess it's safe to say that she's running strong again .

And then came the Greekmobile. Just to get a baseline run before the nitrous, we ran one of my off the shelf street programs in his truck and it pulled an impressive 404rwhp and 484rwtq (you suck, LOL). After that came the nitrous testing. Get this- 488rwhp and 623rwtq! If I didn't back the pulls up I wouldn't beleive it myself. Even the guys at the dyno shop were going nuts over the power this truck makes. Spiro had to go stand in the corner until he calmed down ;-).

Here is Spiro's dyno after tuning on the nitrous.

Travis, I couldn't fit the grin in my lense. As a matter of fact, Spiro had to rent a trailer to haul the grin home with him after the session. LOL.

Sal thanks for the info, I'll make sure not to line up next to Spiro, man he has some sick numbers there.

What mods do you have on your truck to get those numbers?

Thanks
Don

Sal,

Thank god I saw that dyno on spiro's truck, cause now I'm going to put the 150 pill in to get more juice, HAHAHA LOL, J/K. I can't wait to get done there and do a dyno on mine with the juice. I got the batteries all hooked up and done, the box is allot stiffer in the back then I thought it would be. I got the nos kit yesterday and eddies coming over to hook it up tonight, hopefully!!!

It will be ready for next week. can't wait to see all you guys, later.

Don, since I do this for a living, I have some mods that do an don't help any. But since people buy them, I have to test them, and sometimes the ones that don't help just stay there anyway . I'll try to list what I've got, and if the part didn't help ET, I'll list that too.

PSP Chip (of course)
PSP 12" Filter Kit
PSP Lower Pulley
PSP Electric Fan kit
90mm MAF (no power increase)
Single Blade Throttle Body (no power increase)
ASP 1b upper pulley (no power increase)
PSP Secondary cooler with fan
Twin Dynomax Race Magnum Bullet mufflers in place of cats, Bassani Cat back, stock manifolds

That's pretty much all I have that would help power on the dyno. Other mods that would not have an effect on dyno power are:

Level 10 converter and shift kit
PSP Line Lock
PSP prototype cooler box (dyno runs made with no ice in box)
JL Ram air (good for spring and fall use)
PSP Version Caltracs
PSP DS Loop
MT ET Streets

I'm pretty sure that's about it. Still have stock 3.55s and I've got 60fts better than 99% of other trucks out there, including N2O trucks. Everything else is stock, blower, intakes, heads, lower end, etc. Since I do custom tuning, I can't change the internals, or I wouldn't be able to make programs for stock trucks . The key to any of these trucks making legit power, comes from the chip tuning.

Thanks Sal

When you said baceline numbers and I compared it to the stock 2001 I said damn. I figured with those numbers it had to be chipped, and filtered, HEHE.
I can't wait to see what you do when you get your new 2001 soon, keep us all informed.

HOLY S H I T!! I could not believe the day we had at the DYNO.

First off I must thank Sal for all the help with this "freak" truck..LOL I myself could not believe those numbers with a PSP street file simply AWESOME!!
And I would also like to thank the guys at the DYNO for keeping me calm while Sal was having all the fun behind the controls...LOL
And of course HARVEY for making the trip out for a good day of testing. That 01' was very impressive..congradulations Harvey, Now start posting....LOL

O.K. Guys and Gals. Those are the numbers with the few MODS I have. All the runs were made with STOCK: MAF,TB,CONVERTOR (feel free to check at the WFC), HEADS,MOTOR.And of course a 100 shot of NITROUS.

Believe me, I myself could not get over the TORQUE this BEAST was making during her session, more than I ever hoped for.Trucks are not supposed to lay down numbers like this.

Now the key would be to hook all that power to the track, and with my NEW 15" wheels, with a genourous tire, It's all possible.

All I could say is, the GRAPHS were simply awesome!! Now if I could only convince a few that I could try that 150 shot..LOL

I will see all of you in ST.LOUIS, have a sfae trip out

JL,
LOL..you know your going to sooner or later..

HIGHROLLER,
I would love to run 11.50's, and to be honest...it's quite possible with good conditions on WEDNESDAY NIGHT!! I will keep you informed

By the way..that GRIN lasted all the way down the NJ TURNPIKE...lol

Sal,
I am curious as to why you say the 90mm,ASP Upper pulley, and OB throttle body have no power increase. I know that the upper pulley doesnt gain any HP but it gives you more torque. I know just by the ***-O-METER, that the 90mm make a HUGE difference over the 80mm stock. I also do remember BAbolt posting last year that the OB TB made an extra 6hp and 6 rwtq. So are you saying that these mods won't show up on the dyno? I'm just curious how you came to that conclusion.
