Hey Brian,
The picture works for me?? I hope it is working for you this morning as it is a pretty cool picture. I am probably going down to Rockingham on the 2nd so Sal can hear my truck - with his pulley on, it makes an aweful noise???? Take it off everything is quite. Reinstall - loud as hell?? Come on down to the "Rock".
Jim

Just so you know, Geocities are a$$holes when it comes to sharing pictures.might want to start up a Zing, or Photopoint album so we can all see the pictures. Or send it to someone who has an album already up. By the way, what mods do you have on your 01?

Jim,

I just tried again and got:

"We're sorry, but this page is currently unavailable for viewing.

I have tried from home and work with no difference (No image).

Any ideas????

Thanks

Thumbs up

Jim,

Got it!!!

It looks pretty cool!!

I have never raced there at night....Maybe I should try it sometime...

I installed the pulley and had no noise at all...Just added whine

If it rattles, the only thing that would come to mind is 1) The belt tensioner pulleys up top. Did you use the factory belt or get the longer belt?? Obviously if it goes away without the pulley, its gotta be related to the pulley.

For a longer belt, here is the cross-ref:

Bando Gates Dayco Goodyear DaycoPL English
8PK1700 K080670 5080670 669K8

I got the Gates K080670 from NAPA for 33$. The belt is much more like factory. With the factory belt and PSP pulley, it was tight as crap....

Later

Brian,
Yeah I got the longer belt (from your post a while back) - Thanks!! It only makes the noise in gear at idle if you rev it to 900 or above it stops When I put the stock pulley back on and took it to the dealer Monday they could find no problem. Last night I reinstalled the PSP pulley and the noise is back Sal told me there is no way it is the pulley or they all would make the noise??

Cool

CornerCarver,
The better question might be which mod I don't have I have JL ram air, power cooler & drive shaft loop. PSP pulley. JDM fan, converter & flip chip. MT et's and level 10 shift kit. I also have JL's Diablo but have not got to run it at the track yet. The 12.77 was run on the street side of the flip chip with pump gas. Temp high 70's humidity 90%

Sorry for the questions, but how much was the power cooler? Did you notice any gains from it? Same for the PSP pulley. Thanks.

The power cooler was $415. I have made 20 passes with it and would guess it is worth .1 -.2 The pulley (other than the NOISE created by my engine when the pulley is on) is probably worth .1 - .2 I have only been to the track once with it and had other new mods so it is hard to be accurate.

Jim i wouldn't worry about the noise most likely its just because your spinning the blower faster at idle than it used to be. its just the norm for most of these m112's mine does it too. sorta just like the vortech blowers man they do some ratteling too but there just fine something to do with the backlash in the gears.as far as your pulley having a wobbel to it. you should take it back off and check for any debri behind it. because these pullies are machined and i know there within at least .020 ? is the wobbel up and down or is it back to front? let us know what you come up with.. JL,
Thanks for the reassuring words ! As for the pulley I have removed it reinstalled the stock one, took it to the dealer to have it checked with no problem found. When I reinstalled the stock pulley the noise went away - I even tried raising the rpm's slightly to get the stock one to do it but was unable to. I reinstalled the PSP last night - everything is spotless clean and the noise is back If you say nothing to worry about I'll take your word on it!! I just hope after you and Sal hear it in person you all still think it is nothing to worry about. Looking forward to seeing you at the Rock!
Jim
