Daytime Running Lights, Pulled Resister, nothing

I've searched through nloc.net and here, and I've read you need to pull the harness pointed at the blue arrow, but still, my lights turn on when I haven't turned them on myself......and that is very annoying. The truck's a 2003, and if anyone has any input other than simply pulling the harness, let me know.

I think he is suggesting that the electrical forum is a better place to find solutions to electrical problems.

I would hope I'd know the difference since I do own one, but I thought maybe this was a specific issue with the Lightnings.....hence the post in the Lightning forum vs the more broader electrical forum. But it sounds like no one has had an issue like this so to the electrical forum it goes.

I have an 04 which is aq le3ft over 03, I think.
I have 4 positions for the headlight sw.
First one on the left will let the lights turn on when it is dark, by them selves.
the second is the OFF position. next is parking lights, then normal headlights on. And in the headlights on position, you can pull the sw to turn on the foglights, which will light up the little yellow indicater.

Are you saying , that during daylight, outside, the lights all come on by themselves ?

Only Canada sold trucks should have daytime running lights. Do you also have your speedo in kilometers?

Daytime lights are on ALL the time. If the ignition is turned on, they come on, doesn't matter wh hat gear you're in, if you have the parking brake set, if you're moving, if it's at night, in the morning, in the day, they are on.

And yes my speedo has KPH right underneat the MPH.

Did you buy the truck used? It sounds like someone may have installed an aftermarket DRL setup. You might want to look for a non-stock looking module in the truck somewhere, or trace the wiring back from the headlights and/or GEM module.

Looks like you were right. There was a module that did seem out of place which was hooked up to a relay that splicing into a bunch of wires. It made me wonder for a second wtf Ford was thinking when they were doing the wiring down there

It's very nice not having to turn off your engine just to turn off the headlights now
