Cool Magnaflow vs Flowmaster 0 - 100 (Sound clips)

Well, I decided to remove my Magnaflow 12568 for twin, 40 series Flows. I know a lot of you newbies want to know what each sounds like before committing $$ towards the purchase & installation. I've had Dynomax Bullet race muffers, the Magnaflow and now the Flowmasters. The flows are breathing thru 3.5" chrome tips out the side and sound incredible - like a healthy marine engine. The Magnaflow sounded good as well, but not as loud. The Magnaflow was removed because it wasn't loud enough to suit me and because it was installed poorly, costing me many HP.

BTW, my 3.5" chrome tips out the side look awesome - I'll post pics when I get the camera back or it quits raining.

In the first sound clip, you can hear my buddy's sunglasses flying off the dash. Runs 1 & 2 are with the windows up. Run 3 is with the passenger side window down.

Silver,

Hear the 1-2 slip I've been talking about? I'm in the same boat as Alphadoggy.

NOSTROMO,

Something is wrong with geocities.com. I'm trying to upload to another site to make it more reliable.

Can somebody enlighten me as to why my links refuse to work when clicked, but when they're copied & pasted into the address bar they do? I'm scratching my head on this one...

CBQB3,

The 12568 muffler is ~$85-$90 by itself new, plus installation.

I had the same problem. It looks like clicking the link adds 'http//' before the address and it works without that, beats me.
The clips sound great. It's nice to hear an L in person but to be able to hear one while inside is great too! Thanks!

Thanks for the sounds..amazing how that supercharger winds up before every shift.

BTW, if you click on the address bar and put a single "?" right onto the end of the geo*****ties link, it will come up fine.

Cool

Jim,

It sounds good but from the clip you can't tell it's much louder at WOT with the Flows.

I'll take this one, guys... I'm a server engineer and can explain what's going on. Geocities doesn't want to just be a media host so they're refusing to serve non-HTML that has a HTTP_REFERRER that's not Geocities. All you have to do is hit a quick reload to hear the clips, since the referrer is now itself, Geocities.

That's not too clear, but if you know what I'm talking about then it makes perfect sense. *grin* Bottom line, just hit reload.

Talking

WhiteLightning99,

They are regular 40 series and were $90 each installed. The installation is exceptional IMHO. I picked up about 10 hp just from the clean bends of my pipes over what I had at the track and dyno earlier this month.

I think what makes the real difference in sound are those 3 1/2" chrome tips - megaphone effect. And there is ABSOLUTELY no "helicopter" resonance in the cab at any speed like I had with the Dynomax's.

I'm still experimenting with sound files and I'm just goofing off really trying to learn how to do this stuff. Those links are radio quality - I'll try a CD quality recording. Also, I'll try to have a pic of them this evening along with another sound pic of startup (very cool) and some driveway revving.
