Question Where to get navigator motor???

Hey guys, I want to do up a navigator motor with a novi 2000 on it this winter and I was wondering if anybody knows a place to get one cheap. Its going to get new pistons and and rods so I thinking maybe a junkyard if they have a wrecked Navigator. any ideas.

If it wasn't for the fact that I would get caught, I could walk next door from the Focus plant to the Michigan Truck Plant and swipe ya a new motor..... shipping would be a bit much though.

Good luck finding the motor though. Is this going to go into the L or some other creation?

KArkraft has them in stock too, brand new.

I want to navigator motor because they have the four walve heads. have those ported and polished and then put some new pistons on the motor and thats all you need. maybe some new bolts but thats about it. Have a intake up top custom made to deliver the most air possible and then blower it with the novi 2000. those blower pump out 25PSI average. thats what I'm talking about, some mean power. JR granatelli is going in the 7's with his 4.6 block and stock crank and stock head ported and polised up. It just seems allot easier then haveing to put a 351 in with all the new wires.

either that or a new 2001 L motor with new pistons, milled and ported and polished heads, and definetly a new blower.

RT,
If you are going to do rods and pistons. The cranks are the same in a 5.4 4v and a 5.4 Lightning as are the blocks. So you'll need heads complete with cams. From my understanding the heads are the same as they put on the Cobra. You'll also need Navigator timing chain cover and chain hard ware. (they are different then a Cobra) Coils and harness. If you are going to force feed it the stock intake won't work.
As for a Cobra R motor good luck getting one of those. The heads are different casting with the ports moved around. So even if you could get just the heads it would still be alot of Fab work.
I use to work at the Navigator assembly plant and have done a little figuring. It could be done.
