looking for intercooler leak?
this being my first L it's a 01. Ive heard that the intercooler leak was solved? But it's early to see, so what should I be looking for and how often and what should I do in a sign of a leak?

The tell-tale sign is the intercooler reservoir going down. Mark the current level with a marker to gauge fluid loss. I would check it every time you open the hood, or every few weeks, depending on how often you drive (I know an L owner nearby who loses the whole reservoir, now filled with just distilled water, every 100 miles in his 99...)
See this pretty red truck owned by the Ford Boys?
See its intercooler with the low coolant level?
If this starts happening, you know you've got a dud!!!! Wasn't it nice of them to show us what to look for? BTW I snapped these pics 2 weeks ago.

And if your coolant does start going down, throw a can of BG cooling system sealant in the reservoir and, voila, your problem is solved.

Don't throw a can in there. It's NOT safe. SVT says plug the coolant tank and drive it carefully and not wide open, take it to the dealer and get it replaced. It'll most likely do it again and they'll keep replacing it. Keep an open ticket on the problem and get yourself an extended warranty as well. SVT claims the updated intercoolers are near completion and I'm not doubting them. Time on this matter sux but it'll come.
