Smile Touched 140 today, nice.

We were testing a new suspension package today and I decided to run the L around the course I pulled it up to 140 on the speedo down the straight. Very stable and quiet with more power on tap but was distance limited. I did not make note of the rpm's but the boost was in the black. I will tell you one thing the Retrax cover does improve aerodynamics. The truck handles much better with the cover closed the rear end feels heavier and more stable. I know loering would improve top end handling but I am not ready to compramise the utilty yet. I am also thinking about a Nastruck style spoiler for the rear.

Interesting note about the Retrax. I definitely noticed the extra weight (like I notice the difference between a full tank and 1/4 full), but I'm not sure I'd call it an improvement. More like neutral maybe, though I can't much argue with adding weight over the rear. The aerodynamic benefits are nice too, icing on the cake.

Have you noticed people checking out the cover as much as the entire rest of the truck? People love it, and are constantly commenting on how they've never seen anything like it.

I plan on fabbing one out of aluminum like nastruck spoilers. Removable with angle adjustments. prob 8" high. I am looking for specs on the real deal so I can benefit from their wind tunnel time.

I haven't looked, but I bet actual specs would be hard to find, since they don't want competing teams to know their secrets!
