Thumbs up Herb's generation 2 washers

As an owner of generation 2, I bought two of Herb's washers. At 5k I never heard any front end noises, but since the camber was several degrees negative, I decided to install the washers before the camber fix. After I jacked the truck up the movement of the left rear swing arm bolt was obvious. I have read about the clunk, but after seeing the movement, I feel every gen 2 should use these washers to eliminate this movement. Herb has a great product and you can contact him at jacksonherb@hotmail.com.

Not really "washers". Machined steel part, fits oval slot, machined lip to hold in place, drilled for control arm bolt. In truth, "washers" under-sells the product.

How's things over on the "other side of the ravine"?

Drove it in once for a show-and-tell, scared the bejeezus out of a coworker, and took it home to the bat-cave. Probably won't commute with it again this year.

Absolutely no mods yet, but working on some stuff.

Have them on my 2000 L and they work great. Herb was kind enough to send them asap since my truck was sitting in the shop waiting on the parts. The first time, use the star washer fix from Ford which didn't last long. Would like to say "Thanks Herb"! and yes $50 for washers....."supply and demand"

I had my washers within 10 days of order. Front end won't stay aligned without them. They are critical. My left front tire was getting oustside wear at 2000 easy miles. Put washers in and only had to put cam bolts in on left side to align. I think Herb travels for work so e-mail him again. Low production volume machined parts can be costly. I don't think he makes much on them. He's a good guy and he is providing a necessary part for the Lightning. Ford should have made the proper correction a long time ago. The fact that Ford refuses to come up with a correct fix for the clunk gives me little faith that they will come up with an intercooler fix. But that's a different rant.
