Red face And the truck goes BANG!

I was on the interstate doing ~65 MPH. I was driving "normal", and I was in OD just cruising down the road. Well, all of a sudden there's a loud bang. I look at my guages, and the tach flies up to ~5,000 RPM, but the engine was not revving. I get back on the gas, and the truck is in 3rd gear, and the converter is unlocked. I speed back up to 65 MPH, and all seems fine. Everything feels just fine after some driving. Has anyone ever seen this before????

hehe that mexican joke was kinda funny.

How many miles on your truck?

I had a similar thing happen to my 1999 Thunderbird Super Coupe. The transmission made a load bang the 2nd day I had it, and again a few hours later. It never did it again, and I drove it over 100,000 miles. The only thing I or my dealer could figure was maybee a little piece of dirt or a metal shaving got stuck in a valve body or somewhere in the trans.

They checked it out and couldn't find a thing, but just to be safe they changed the fluid and filter. It never did it after that.

Maybee what you had is something simmilar to what happened to me.

Cool

OUCH! That's pretty damn funny. I didn't find any blood when I was cleaning her up this evening.
Hopefully mine will run for MANY miles w/ no problems, too. I've already done quite a bit of towing w/ my L, and it's been great. It tows AWESOME! I currently have 1,700 miles on the odometer.
