Angry Busted Street Racing In Chicago

Me and a friend were sitting along the side of the road at a hot Chicago spot in his Chrysler Sebring when a cop rolled up and gave us the 3rd degree. People were just starting to roll in and we had just parked. My friend ended up getting a ticket for illegally parking. We contested we had no idea people raced there and the Sebring was definately no race car. Good thing I didn't bring the L. I just thought the cops were A-holes as I have been going to this spot for 10 years now and never had this kind of problem.

Hey at least you don't have New York rules. If you are caught racing your vehicle is confiscated.....indefinately.

Actually, there is one fellow on LS1.com that had his car confiscated in New York, only to force them to give it back...a year later or something.

I think his call sign is 98 SNAKE EATER.

Tundra - It isn't impossible to get your car back....just after you pay numerous lawyer fees.

BTW you should see how awesome your car looks getting converted into an NYPD highway patrol car!

NYPD sounds like the same tactics that are used by the Tijuana Mexico police if you ask me...they WILL convert your inpound into a police car!

Thumbs up

Heck, I've been pulled over 5 times in the last year by local, county and State cops just to take a look at my L.
Sold 2 of them on buying one.
But no one wanted to go for a ride! Wonder why? he,he.

I don't beleive an impounded vehicle can be used for police departments. THe vehicle must be sold at public auction and bought back by the police department.

If I am indeed wrong...That's new news to me. Very scary stuff when personal property is allowed to be siezed on suspicion.

4th amendmant stuff.

I'll just say I was on the southeast side. I've been out of the game for a while. I've been plagued with problems with my Z28 and the L is all stock as I've only had it a month. I just went to the spot to see what kind of action there was. I did see a black gen2 L getting stopped by the cops after they let us go. I hear the real action is on the west side. I'm not that fast.
