Question AAD hood?

I purchased an AAD hood for a private seller and would like to know if there are any special instructions that need to be followed for paint and installation. I called the maker and got an answering machine. Maybe one of you with this hood could help me out.

The most important thing is that you have a body shop bake it first. This will cure the fiberglass and afterwards, the hood can be prepped and painted. It you don't bake it first, you might see imperfections pop up later as the hood cures.

If you charged that hood on a CC, you can tell them to keep it and dispute the charges with the CC. Tell them exactly what happen. You were given shotty workmanship hoods and then ontop of that you pay shipping AND a 150$ restock fee. Thats utter BS. Let the BBB know. Do they do business online also?

love the looks of them, and wanted one till i talk to a few body shops around here. they hated any fiberglas hoods. said they were always hard to make fit and easily damaged, so i went with the Reflexxion cobra hood instead. i do like it but truthfully love the look of the cobra hood AAD puts out, a little bit better.

First I just want to say that I think the AAD hood is awesome looking and would love to have one on my truck. I also know some people on this board have their hoods and are happy with them but after trying 2 of their hoods out and being out shipping costs and "damages" I have to be wary of their over all quality. The first hood I received was both short in length and width. The length was short by 1/4" on both sides, the width was also short by 5/16" on the front of the hood and 1/4" at the cowl. The second hood I received was not straight across the front of the hood where it meets the grill and would have required fiberglass work to correct. I indicated this to AAD they said to ship it back and I would incur a restocking fee. I told them I didn't think I should have to pay for fiberglass work on a hood that I had already spent nearly $600 on (not including shipping twice). AAD said to send it back and they would look at it and go from there.
When they did get it back I was charged for damages to the hood-
there were greasy fingerprints on the hood and a corner at the back side of the hood had a nick in it. I thought $150 charge was a little excessive since they were going to have to rework the hood anyway. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to let you know my experince with them.
