Post Long Tube Dyno Results

10.9rwhp and 16.2 ft./lbs. I'll be back later if there are questions. These numbers could be improved.

About $100.

Long Tubes will usually run around $1000-1200.

At what RPM did you start to see the hp increase? How much of the horsepower curve was increased by the 10 hp? Thanks.

The headers coated are $975. I had a custom exhaust with H-Pipe welded up. High flow cats, dynomax race magnums and O2 sensors are all working.

My baseline run was a 2001 w/JDM chip & filter. The engine was cool. The header run was the same except the motor was hotter which is probably worth some hp. Also, I think some tuning for the new exhaust will help the numbers.

I've got a chart that shows the increases at each rpm interval. If there is enough interest I can fax it or put it into a spreadsheet but I'm not sure how to post.

Basically the greatest increases were seen at 3500-3600rpm (torque and hp) 6-8 hp and 10-12 ft/lbs throughout the rest of the rpm range.

The headers from Mike at Lightning Performance are top quality. Fit was great and finish was great. Would I do it again...absolutely. Nobody has show real dyno numbers on an exhaust that are better and I don't believe magazine articles that don't back stuff up with numbers. They have to sell ads to people.

Bassani = 0 hp; Oval TB = 0hp; 90mm MAF = 0 hp (at least that are what some are reporting that aren't selling product). At least I got something for my money and it is HP I didn't have. You and your wallet must be the judge of it is worth it.

No flame intended, but I will be going to the track this weekend...

cost: 2 cans of food

I will be testing the delete-muffler option, this can be done at any shade-tree mechanic's shope (your driveway). Mine is real cool, hes gonna put his shop on the road (set it up at the track).

I will be testing with and without the muffler, back to back passes. I hear the track will be heated for better traction to boot!

And we all know how much it costs to take off your muffler...

Good Luck with your tests. The one thing I didn't mention is how heavy the stock system is. I saved at least 20-30lbs. Now I need to mix in a slim fast and drop 20-30 from my fat a$$. That should give me .5mph through the traps.
