Post digital odometer?

i didn't see any explanation in my owner's manual...can anyone tell me, does it do any more than show total miles? unless i'm missing something(very possible); there is no "trip odometer" function, right?

Yes, you can switch between trip and odometer by pressing the plastic post next to the odometer. Hold it in for a couple of seconds to reset the trip meter.

If you hold the button in, while starting your truck, the odometer will display diagnostics (computer codes, oil temp, speed, tach...)

Just a push of the button between total vehicle miles and trip miles...

Push in on the little **** and hold it there. It will switch over to "Trip Odometer" Do the same thing to erase.
There is evidently a way to get engine codes from it also but there is a sequence I don't remember that was posted here.

Press and hold button with key in "off" positsion. Turn key to "on" while still holding button down. After about three seconds you will see "test" come up. Release button and press to scroll thru. Trun the key to "start" and you will have real digital readouts on fuel, battery voltage, speed, tach, engine temp., etc. etc.

If I remember correctly, it just gives a reading saying that there is pressure. Pressure isn't given, just that there is oil pressure.

The '99 Cobra that I had, the oil gauge was an idiot gauge. As long as ther was more than 5psi of pressure a pressure switch was made and the gauge went to the center position. I would almost bet it's the same on these trucks.

Right CornerCarver, since '86 if I remember correctly 4 PSI initiates it.

Unfortunately this method doesn't work while driving, correct? Well, I guess it does, but I'm wondering if you have to reset this everytime?

It does work while driving, i've had it up for a few of the different displays.

It will not be there when you start it up again, you'll have to initiate it again. And, it will erase your trip odo in the process.

Do a search on this. There is a link to a Mustang Chat room that goes over in detail all the functions of the LED read out that is the odometer. IE, Digital tach., Oil press., Temp., Fault Codes and alot of other things.
