Thanks

I thought somewhere that the 01's where supposed to have a bigger air filter though, or was that something else?

I'm pretty sure someone with an 01 installed the same one that fits the 99-00 which is listed above.

The filters are the same, but the air intake to the mass air, and the whole in the inner fender is bigger.

Post couple of misc performance ?

Forgot this early, it's an 01'.

Does anyone know if K&N makes a direct replacement airfilter yet. I was going to make my own ram air, and would prefer to keep the stock airbox, just modifiy it and replace the stock airfilter with a K&N one.

a thread a few days ago, Spiro suggested wait for the engine to completely break in before putting on a chip. So until then I figure I'll do a shift kit to firm up the shifts. Whats everyone favorite? From what I've read it seems to be the level10 kit.

those who installed aftermarket boost gauges and air/fuel ratio gauges, whats pods and gauges are good, and how hard are they to hook up by yourself? I saw that alot of people like the lotek 3 gauge one, but aside from an air/fuel and boost gauge, what other gauges would be very helpfull?

K&N 33-2140 is an exact drop-in replacement for the 99-01 Lightnings. The airbox has some changes in inlet & outlet sizes for the 90mm MAS, & larger inlet tubing, otherwise the box, including the filter frame is the same. I had the K&N in my 2001 before getting an Airaid.
