1999 Lightning (Euro) How much is it worth?
I have a 1999 Lightning That was one of 2 converted by Ford for Euro Market Analysis. I am thinking about Selling this truck & was wondering what it would be worth? It is in stock trim and has 20,000 miles on it, red in color. I have an ESP warranty also. The Euro modifications that Ford of Europe made are: amber side marker lamps under the fender emblems, amber rear turnsignals, Euro trailer wireing harness conector for amber lamps, and a Euro front licence plate bracket. The truck was featured in Automoble magazine in Janurary of 2001.

I actually have the other one. When I tagged mine, Yours was there as well. The Automobile Mag truck is actually mine, as the 2000 British MOT sticker is visible in the windshield. When I took delivery, mine has 11,400 miles on it.
However, yours was featured in several German-Langauge magazines, such as "Chrommen and Flammen" I have copies that were provided to me by a felllow L owner in Germany.
Alas, despite the nble pedigree of our trucks, mine will be going in for the leaky intercooler fix next week.....
Love the beast!

A dealer in the UK - http://www.americancarimports.co.uk/...asp?cat=pickup - is selling a 2000 with 11000 miles for $40,000. They just sold one with delivery miles for nearly $50,000.
I plan to take my 2001 Lightning when I go back in about a year's time. I will have to go through the new single vehicle approval procedure which means fixing the lights to Euro standards (and no, the "Euro" rear lights on the 2001 are not legal over there!)

Mikef - my L was done here in Oz by the biggest Ford importer/conversion specialists - Billrich Pty.Ltd. They used to be part owned by for and are they only guys here that can do 'full-volume compliance' conversion on F-series trucks (supposed to be a stricter, factory supervised conversion than what is known as a 'low volume compliance' conversion, usually attributed to grey market imported vehicles).
The whole conversion process adds significant cost to the vehicle, usually around $US6000, sometimes more.
Well, mine was on the cover of Car and Driver back in Jan. of '99.
1 in 1760 chance anyways...LOL.

guess I can't complain then, looks like all I have to do for UK is convert the "Euro" lights to European-legal lights (amber rear turn signals, side turn repeaters, rear fog lights to blind the bugger following too close)
