Mrs. Smithers' refrigerator went on the blink, so she called a repair man. He couldn't accommodate her with an evening appointment, and since she had to go to work the next day she suggested that she leave the key under the door mat and he could let himself in, repair the refrigerator, and leave the bill on the counter, and she would mail him a check.
The repair man agreed, so Mrs. Smithers gave him some more instructions. She told him not to worry about her Rottweiler, he would not bother him at all, but under no circumstances should he say anything to her parrot. The repair man agreed, and when he arrived at her apartment the next day he encountered the largest and most ferocious looking Rottweiler he had ever seen. But, true to her word, the dog did not show any signs of aggression, but just lay there and watched him while he went about the business of repairing the refrigerator. However, the whole time he was there, the parrot just squawed incessantly, and would not shut up. Finally the repair man couldn't take it any longer, and turned to the parrot and yelled, "Shut up, you stupid bird." Whereupon the parrot turned to the dog and said, "Sic him, Brutus!"
