Talking And the good news

Just got a call from my tranny guy, and he said that my torque converter returned by UPS yesterday, and the truck is all buttoned up and ready to go. He said he took it for a test drive, and it shifted real hard, but seemed to be down on power on the 1-2 shift. I reminded him that I had pulled the chip, so he was looking at the Ford "torque reduction" fuel shut-off on the 1-2 shift. Whew, we both breathed a sigh of relief. Because all the clutches were fried, not just the primary clutch pack, its going to cost a little more than I anticipated, about $1700, but thats still a thousand bucks cheaper than if I'd gone with the Level 10 stuff, and the parts are better, too. It will be so cool to have a hard shifting, bullet-proof tranny instead of the F.p.o.s. Now gotta call Danny and make an appointment for him to install the Cobra t.b. and re-burn the chip. After that its back to Famoso to see if I can break into the 12s. Marcus, I will be in Hawaii on the 25th and 26th, but I definitely plan to be at Famoso on June 8th and 9th. Are you up for the trip?

My dealer finally admitted that there was a problem with my tranny. It had real soft 1-2 shifts and the coasting clutches stayed on resulting in my truck slowing down once the gas pedal was released.Felt like the torque convertor stayed locked or something.Anyway, after a couple visits to the dealer,They finally ordered a new tranny but wait theres more!!!! There is no supply of these tranny's so Ford is buidong me one and its gonna be a RE-MAN Tranny i guess.I dont care,A 2001 is in my future anyway Silver this time
Im glad you got your truck fixed for good and I even went to a transmission builder to find out if it fails again, what it would cost.If It fails,The guy can bring the stall up to 1900 so it will still be streetable. I guess all these tranny's are is a e40d with some diffent parts inside.
