I said it before and ill say it again,Aftermarket wheels do not belong on a Lightning. Most of them take away the "factory hot rod" look and cheapen them up.

On the other hand,You take classy billet wheels like those and put them on a Lightning and they make that truck look super classy and awesome!!!!AWESOME choice in wheels

Lightningquick -- I agree. Changing rims on the L's has always seemed like defacing a national monument. It's like tearing down Wrigley Field -- ya just don't do it.

The best wheels for the L is the new 20 inch lightning replica's that are comming out. those will look the best by far. And I don't think red and silver looks good with the chrome wheels. I really like the silver on them.

Your wheels loog good, what size are they. I had a '68 cougar for my first car, I thought that the headlights were cool and it was a pretty fun car.

Different strokes for different folks. I personally would never put after-market rims on my 2001, but some people will and it's their choice. The pics I've seen of Sixpipes' truck are awesome (some day I may actually meet you, Sixpipes; going to Chuck's tomorrow?)!! They will look good with the right wheels, if you go that route. I, again, choose not to go there.

whatami2u was my post..

the new wheels are the same size as the stock wheels, I did move the offset a little out. One of the things I look for with my vehicles is individuality. In every vehicle I have ever had, the first thing I do is change the wheels..Besides looking unique the after-market wheels are much lighter and give the "L" a more responsive feel.

I remember the same comments from fellow ZR1/vett owners when I recv'd one of the first ZR1's in California, the first thing I did was have some Etoile light weight racing wheels hand made in France. The purists thought I was nuts!

tliss - We will meet eventually I'm sure. I like the T-Rex wheels on my truck, but...

I especially like to use them when I'm defacing National Monuments on the weekends.

whatami2u,

I think your wheels look good! I like the tonneau cover even better. What make is the cover on the red lightning in the photo?

Thank you,
J.
