I hear Z-7 (Zaino) or any other general car wash mixed with water makes a good lubricant.

I thought that was just a scam so you would use their spray. I know Mother's comes with the whole kit, spray, bar, etc. But Zaino told me to use soap and water. Acoder, what happened with the water?

Hehehe....well...it kinda stuck in places. In spots, here and there, if you looked close you could see patches of clay. I mean, you'd have to look at an angle to see it, but oh yeah, you could see it.

Hehehe....what a knucklehead. I was like, "WTF? This stuff sucks!"

Loobricant....of course....that changes everything!

Thats a very important point. Use soap AND water, not just water.

A clay bar is a soft-abraisive material used to remove road tar, bugs, and other hard to get off grub off of your truck.

You generally do not have to clay bar very often. I'd recommend you do it right, wash your car with Dawn first to get off all the old wax, etc...then clay bar it, then wash it again, then do whatever wax/polymer coat treatments you do.

I have been using a clay bar since 1994 and the results are always excellent. I prefer to use Clay Magic by auto wax company over the others. when I do not have any lubricant I will always use distilled water for lubricant. It says nothing on the clay magic box about not using water and I have not had a problem using it. I like the clay from clay magic better than meguiars or mothers because it feels smoother. you also get the cellophane glove to test the surface before claying. very easy to use and excellent results.later 95rcobra
