Question Question For Computer Guru's

Anybody know of a flie recovery utility for Page Maker 6.5 data file ?
'Part-time help has deleted about 40 pages of our new catalog. I may have to take the L on
road trip this weekend to relieve the stress.

Thank You,

Rob

Did they delete the file or part of the file ? If they deleted part of the file you are in trouble unless pagemaker autosaves and you can find an appropriately sized file in your temp directory. The temp file may have a weird name or extension but if the size is right see if you can open it with the app.
Good Luck

Do what Silver_2000 said.

Look in the temp directory and see if you can open the stuff with pagemaker. Sometimes the stuff does get autosaved and will just sit there.

For future refrence, this is exactly why you make backups and store them in different places.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.
We went thru all temp files and unfortunately
the big files are gone.
We had been doing backups to our server, but for some reason it cannot be read
(backup does not contain any information).
Well, we'll try again in the morning.

Forgot to add that if the entire file was deleted then any undelete program ( the OS and file system will determine which undelete is best ) will recover deleted files IF they have not been overwritten by the OS.
