Talking WANT BILSTEIN SHOCK UPDATE FROM 99-00 INSTALLERS

Awhile back several of you were installing the Bilstein Shocks on your 99 or 00 Ls. What do you think since you've had them on, especially if you think the rears are firmer than the originals.

I like them (for the street) on the front but my truck is too low to use them in the back.

Well that doesn't help me. I'm a drag racer and I'm not even going to put them on the front. I want the front to lift for weight transfer, but I want to back hard for traction and no wheel hop so its the rears I want to know about. Thanks anyway for responding.

I have the Bilstein shocks. I think they are well worth getting. Cornering is way better, and to answer your question i have noticed less wheel spin. These shocks are a lot firmer than the 99,00 shocks. I am very pleased with them. And hey look better than the stock's when you look under.

NoelVM, I just picked up my bilsteins today from ford. they were out of stock in the warehouse for the rear bilsteins and they came right from Butcher engineering in windsor, ontario. anyway with the work schedule so busy I will be installing in the next few days after I road test with the 00 shocks and then do the same road test with the Bilsteins. I am expecting to see a good difference in these shocks. hope I am not disappointed. later 95rcobra.

Stiff rear shocks may not help your 1/4 time. If the rear is harder to compress, it will be harder for the weight to transfer. Front shocks you would want light rebound and firmer comression, on the rear you want light compression.

Hey donovan,

If you know what the hell you were asking you would know that these shocks had just started coming to the parts departments and were brand new. Consequently a search would have produced nothing!!!
