Red face Another problem...(stereo)

Hate to say it, but I think I have another prblem with my truck...

Who has used their tape deck recently?

I used mine for the very first time, and if not I know this is the second. I put in my favorite punk rock band from back in the day, and it was played twice as fast! The band was the Pixies, if any of you care, with Frank Black.

Anyhow, I know the tape was old, but it had songs I hadn't heard in a while. Thought I'd groove on my way to my boring job (I'm a top secret double-triple-agent). Well it didnt work, so I put in a brand new tape. Well it still didnt work. It would try to play it one way, then the other way, then it would say tape error or something. I'll have to take a picture of it.

Whats up with that?

My mothers '90 Cougar had a similar stereo problem that was recalled, except it would turn the volume up all the way and wouldn't let you turn it down.

Anyone else have similar problems? I think I'll try to have them replace mine with an in dash cd player, and pay for the difference. I know its not going to happen.

First: You actually have "tapes"?
Secondly: See above...

Bummer I also love the Pixies, I got anouther great band I bet you love The Throwing Muses.

I guess I am lucky growing up in Boston, I have seen both bands live a bunch of times.

I have no Idea whats wrong with the tape deck, but my sugestion would be to get them on CD, if you want I can burn you some great punk CD's (though I don't know if the Pixies are true punk)Better yet get yourself a good aftermaket sound system.

Good luck, and I never pictured you as a Pixies fan, and do you have any of Frank Black solo stuff, some of it is pritty kick A$$ too.

Forgive my ignorance, but whats a tape?

Seriously though, what possessed ford to put a tape deck and a 6cd changer in a truck like this. They could have at least given us that 6 in dash unit, make everything easier when we rip it out.

Well, I pretty much listen to everything. Anyone remember the Violent Femmes? Another one of my favorites. As far as the tape deck stuff, its just an excuse to try to get a cd deck out of Ford.

I also like some TuPac. :d thought I'd throw a wrench in there. Pretty much anything except some white guy crying in the rain how he lost his job and his supermodel wife. Then how his dog got hit by a car, lets not forget about his true loss, losing the rodeo to his rival.

Sorry, all those songs are the same, then country music people. Please, dont take offense, some are o.k.

No one has problems with their tape decks?

Hi Tundra,

You are not the only one !
I still listen to tapes which I made from my University Station days, back in '84.
Where else could I get Black Flag, The Exploited, Dead Kennedies etc.
Anyways, my tape works great, I have no problem going from CD to tape.
Sorry, but I don't have any answers for you regarding yours.

I confess in having used my tape deck. However, I notice it "clunks" and seems to have direct corelation to my intercooler failing...

I haven't played a tape in years. And it's not like the tape deck in my L will even last til the end of the month.

And guys, you can get all your punk and older music on cd's. Almost everything gets re-released, plus it's gets digitally remastered.
