I think that light has double duty.
It tells you when the parking brake is engaged.
It also indicates a brake problem.
The random illumination may mean your brake fluid is marginally low.

You might want to look at the micro-switch that detects the location of the arm, it might be malfunctioning, or out of aliment (loose).

It’s a good thing I’m not a mechanic, or make my living as a mechanic!!!!!
How do’s the system detect that the e-brake pedal has been depress, and activate the light????

when the pedal is not depressed it makes a ground. but when it is pushed down its an open and the lil bit of power runs through the bulb and it lights it up.

Well in that case, I’m sure that we all know that once their is a ground, you will always have a ground!!!!

Their is no possible way that corrosion would build up and create a non-ground action while driving the vehicle…. (Thereby flashing the light!!)

Like I said, good thing I don’t make a living fixing trucks!

And by the way was the fluid low??
