Question Is $2500 too much for a new stereo system?

I was quoted $2500 for the following:
Alpine 7875 Cd/am/fm
MB Quartz seperates in front, 6x9 in rear
Kef 10" Sub
RF 600 watt amp 100x4/1x200

In the world of stereo systems that is diffently not too much to spend in my book. Some system can range much much higher. As for that paticular setup I ca not tell you if that is a good price or not. If that is all installed that sounds about right. Just my .02 cents

My brother plans on spending that much on his system. Hes getting 4 kicker 10s, RF door speakers and a 1000 wat RF amp.

I've never had a system installed because I do all my own work. But, for a basis of comparison, I have a JVC El Kameleon CD deck, Pioneer 3-way 6x8's in all four corners with a Jensen 60w amp, and a Rockford Fosgate 15" woofer with a Sony 1200W amp. I only spent about $600. I bought all the hardware on the net and I got all the wire at Home-Depot.

I must say, it sounds badass. Save some money and teach yourself how to do it. There are billions of Websites that will tell you what you need to know.

I think 2500 might be a little high, but I don't know what kind of installation there doing on the truck. what type of box and the quality of the work relly make a big deifference.

just as a reference, I spent about $5000 on my stereo and I built the box, and installed everything. This is definetly and expensive hobbie, especially when you have a truck that you want to drag race. LOL!
