Angry Im P.Oed

Its back to the Dealer with my 01. I was looking at my truck from the back and noticed that something didnt look just right. Then I looked at both sides of my bed and realized that the bed is off to one side. Also when I look from behind at where the bed meets the cab, I have about 3/4 inch of cab showing on the right and nothing showing on the left. I then took a level and plumbed down from the fender and measured from the level to the top of the wheel (not the tire) and sure enough left side is about 3/8 to 1/2 wider. The whole damn thing needs to go to the right! Needless to say I'm pissed. I sure hope they can fix it or I want a new truck. To top it off I have to sit there and baby sit it while they work on it because the last time it was there I think someone took it for a ride.

Don't take it to the dealer !

IMO, You expose the vehicle to scratches, dings, drops off the hoist (!) and a test ride from hell by a (un)trained monkey.

Loosen the 6 Torx bolts on the floor of the bed and move it yourself...

Yep, he's right. Not to mention the complimentary B.O./greasy smell that gets embedded into every pore of the truck's interior that takes months to go away.

You think theres enough play in the holes in the bed to move it over? I half wonder if it was a screw up at the plant, drilled the holes off. Your right though I hate to have to take it to the dealer.

Yes fixed mine myself. Better than the dealer scratching up your toy.

Question

Anyone know what size Torx bolts are those? Ill need to get socket. I'll give it a shot. Hope I dont have to run a eye bolt through the fender and hook a comalong to a tree to pull it over. Hehe

L O L .......Just came back from the Dealer. Went there to see what they had to say. Not that I dont trust what you guys are telling me it was just to put my mind at ease.
They wont even mess with it. They said they will send it to a body shop to have the work done. Told me maybe, maybe they can get it done in a day. I dont think there is a guy on this board that would leave there brand new L at some frickin body shop for all of those guys to test drive.
If anyone knows the size of those bed bolts I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks Sawzall

# T-50 Torx. I have not adjusted mine yet. I've been having too much fun driving. I hauled 2 55 gallon drums of gasoline today. Our only gas station in town closed as of Friday. I have a towing and auto-repair business. I have to have gas on hand for the 5mpg. tow truck. I get to import gasoline from 27 miles North now. Say, any F-bodies wanna race me with 2 drums of gasoline in the bed?? I bought me a load-lok today also. Geez, I love buying needed things for my baby.
