Cool Went to Milan Dragway Last nite!

Went to Milan with my 2001L with approx. 2300 miles on her. My first time at the strip. What a rush! I made three runs of 13.74, 13.66 and 13.70. She's stock except for a K&N filter element and a Superchips single program street chip. I didn't do anything fancy off the line, just punched to the floor and held it there. My reaction times left a lot of room for improvment my last run it was 1.203.I am confident with a little work on launch and my reaction time, I may be able to get into the low 13's.Not bad for a 5000lb.truck.These trucks are awesome!

Exclamation

Launch on the third yellow. BTW, reaction time does not affect your E.T., the clock doesn't start until you leave.

Smokingozzy, what Kind of 60 foot times were you getting? Also, your mph? I ran a 13.73 at 99.5 with a 1.98 60' in my 2001 completely stock. I had about 2500 miles on mine and also good air (57 degrees but baro was 29.4 mmHg). Good runs.

Went to Milan on Friday. My Dad came home from Florida and wanted to go. We got there kinda late. I ran right after getting teched in and ran a 14.01, followed by a 10 min cooling and ran 14.02. I then let it sit for about 30 min or so. I changed lanes and ran a 13.87. That was it for time trials. Then came the street race for the night. Not alot of cars running the street race, but there was about 5 rounds of it. I ended up winning. This was my first time out this year and with only 700 miles on the L. I think I could have run the truck into the low 13.80's to high 70's if there were more time trials. All in all, it was a good night and a good base to start from.....not to mention the $100 for winning.

Cool

30 PSI in rear tires. Drive around the water box, break torque enough to get the debris off until they just start to smoke, then spin about 10' to pick up some of the VHT off the launch area. Torque to 1100RPM when both vehicles are staged. When the third yellow lights release the brake while rolling into the throttle to avoid spinning should get you some 1.9's.

Nice job Wayne. I had to leave but I wanted to street race. It was consistent all night long. The tech guy asked me not to run quicker then 12.00 and as you know I think I did a good job holding it on that mark. "High Risk" what happened did you get a better offer.

PFA's 2001 Lightning in action!

I love the look of this Truck especially as a tiny white speck in my rear view mirror.

I found on the 2001's make sure you run with the overdrive in the off position. I have my chip working now look what I ran in 92 degree weather the other day. With cool weather maybee I can get close to or in the 12's
