Thumbs up '00 Vette having some fun with a few Lightnings in TN.....

Just letting you guys know that I had a blast today. Paul, you should've stuck around for a few. You would've witnessed me making an absolute A$$ of myself. Keith and Chris, I figures out why I couldn't get 3rd. I'm still LMAO at my mistake. I was never in 3rd!!! I was in 5th!!! Can we say, "Young, moron, inexperienced driver!!"? I'm glad I could give Chris a good ride. Well, that didn't sound right. I was talking about in the car. Keith had to go ahead and jinx me with his anti-Chevy vibes.

We will all definitely hook up again after you guys get back from WFC. Maybe by that time I'll have a digital camera of my own and we can post some pics. Also, hopefully my clutch will be cooled down by then and my cracked windshield will be fixed .... Later!

One more thing. How many people do you think opened this thread up expecting to find a kill story or some smack talking...

Keith,

I figure I heated the spring too much. The spring is supposed to glide the stick right into 3rd unless you give it a little effort, which I didn't, and it will then go into 5th. Let's see. 5th gear at 60mph at 1500rpm. Damn we were crawling!!! Oh well, I really hope that's messed up as well. It'll give me more leverage to get the Z. Hopefully I'll get the Z by the end of August.... You Ford guys aren't so bad after all.
Later guys..........

HANKFAN: Sounds like fun! Hopefully I'll have the Z before you make it down. That way I shouldn't get killed too bad. Either way, we'll run 'em twice. You can name the first race. I can already tell you what the second one will be: 20mph roll up to 140mph. .... Look forward to meeting you. Later.......

Yep, I do believe that I now have some incentive to get the Ripper. The only thing that worries me is getting the infamous rattle that some C5 guys get. While it doesn't affect shifting, it sucks to be blasting your music just so the passenger doesn't hear the rattle.....

Yellow 00, You got a deal. I am currently
2-0 vs C5's. Oh and both were yellow. LOL The first one was from a dead stop and well that guy is still probably in shock, it was a complete kill. The next one was from about a 50mph roll. I pulled him pretty hard but his C5 was a A4. You're six speed will do much better than a A4 from a roll. I guess we'll have to line them up and just see. I hope you get the Z06 before then, because we would be talking about killer bragging rights then!

Thumbs up

Paul: That NSX was sweet! You're right, it look as though it just came off the showroom floor. I give much respect to Mike for taking it out and using it the way it was designed. Just looking at the NSX I would've sworn it was a garage queen, since it appeared to be in mint shape. Boy would I have been wrong. That car looked damn nice in front zipping around the curves. That is definitely the first time I've probably used the Z51 suspension. I think I'm hooked now. I can't wait to see what the Z will do.

HANKFAN: Actually, I would prefer to race you in my '00 first. Then after getting the Z, we could go again and see how much of a difference I could make up. See ya......

yellow00,

FWIW - I installed a ripper in my Z06 and had none of the rattling everyone complains about

Yeah, but odds are I'll be like "everyone" else and I'll get a unit that rattles. Glad to hear that yours is working out fine.....

HANKFAN: I forgot to mention one thing. We both promise not to look under the hood of our rides until after the races, agreed? My "stock" engine is sorta dirty, right Keith?
