Question A question for ET Street users..

Is anyone using the 11.5 ET Streets on an 8 inch rim, and if so, how does it work? I need a fresh set of them, and figured if the 11.5s would fit on my ARE 8" rims, I might as well get them.

I've got mine on stock F-150 spare wheels. Those are 8", right? There's a few of us in HALO that run on those wheels.

Sal,
Your rims will work...They are a little more narrow than the 9" suggested but with work fine...Your rims are actually 8.5" but all aftermarket wheel manufacturer's use even numbers in those sizes...See you at WFC...

Sal,

Like Madhouse said, there are a few in the club that run the L spare tire rim and have had no problems. I prefer a 10" one myself, but the 8" ones work fine. Just make sure you air them up to 32psi during storage 'cause they tend to lose air and will break the bead loose.

Sweet guys, thanks. I'll order up the 11.5s then. My current ET Streets are so worn, they have no tread, they look like ET drags . I am building some 15" rims, but just haven't had the time to finish them.

Sal,I used 8 inch wheels and they fit perfect and I cannot believe the traction I got.I did a 1-2 burnout and my truck actually stopped spinning from all the traction at almost full throttle.I pulled up to the line and squashed it from a idle and got 0-none-zilch wheel spin. That was with 18psi and then because of the squrlyness at the end of the track,i tried 28psi and still got NO wheelspin

Now that I have had a taste. What does a set of ET's run? Best place to get them?

Bill,
You might try your local speed shop. By the time you pay the freight it works out to about the same price plus most can mount and balance them for you.

Sal, mine are on 8" rims, MT recommends 8-10" rims. Usually 5-5.25 back spacing fit good on the 8" rims. Lloyd

Sal,

8" is fine.. I am using the 8's with the 11.5's. As LS said, 8-10" is the recommended by MT.....

Thanks for all the info guys. I didn't realize that so many people were using the 11.5s on 8" rims. I ordered a set from Jegs (free shipping on tires) and they should be here in a few days.
