Another SuperCharged Ford Truck to Enter Production.
A blown ranger, that would be cool. Give the R/T boys some mid sized competition.

They'd have to do the entire drive-line. I think it would put the HD well into the 50's. Just don't see that happening.
SC Ranger, maybe. 4lb. boost... But not a 5.4L

The HD sells right now with the L engine. It's put in by the dealer. Engine and tranny are a whopping 15000 bucks over the price of the HD. Don't forget the missing suspension though. It's still not an L, even for close to 50k.

I know what it is going to be.
Remember the old bronco's.
I remember SVT talking about making a SVT thunder. it would have the same look, drivability and power as an L, but it would be in the shape of an bronco.
kinda like the typhoon and syclone.
If they make that I want to get one for a work truck. hell yeah!

I remember reading a while ago, heck I might have even been dreaming, but...
Somewhere along those lines someone said our engines were good enough to put in some of the superduties.

The SVT Thunder is a Lightning-ized Expedition. It's a bit bigger than a 2-door Bronco.
Here's what it would look like in silver.

I would like to see the new edge Ranger with the 5.4 Lightning motor in it. It sure will show those R/T's what a real engine can do in a small truck. Or even an Expy with the L motor but one or the other, not another car.

No its a supercharged truck. They are going to make a supercharged mustang in 2002 though.
Heres the article....
Last February BlueOvalNews interviewed a member of Team Mustang who said that SVE was working on offering a SuperCharged Cobra, possibly for the 2002 model year. The code name for the program is "Terminator". A source close to the "Terminator" program told BlueOvalNews that "Ford wants a SuperCharged Mustang on the market. That's already been determined. Now it's just a matter of if we can make that happen for 2002 or not." A source at Roush told BlueOvalNews that they had a dedicated team working 24-7 on developing the "Terminator" Cobra in an effort to make the program into a production vehicle for the 2002 model year.

Gitchi,
the HD has the same suspension as the Lightning from the factory. I crawled under a friends 2001 HD recently and was surprised to find the same rear spring/staggered shock design. The same SVT control arms up front, and the same bilstein shocks.
But, my money would be on an S/C cobra.
