SVT disbanded?
Just got home from the Hot Import Nights show in Dallas. SVT was on hand with their new Focus. Pretty neat little car by the way. I had a chance to talk with a guy from Ford there and I asked him about the rumor that SVT might possibly go away. He said nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, he said that they have never had more success than they are having right now and have plans for expansion. I did'nt get the guys name, but he was very informative and seemed like a pretty straight shooter. I sure hope he's right!!!
Sweet. So maybe they'll turn into the equivalent of BMW's M and Mercedes' AMG: make one of everything.
But then again, that might get annoying.

The indication he gave me was that the SVT operations were growing not their product line. I did ask him about a potential SVT Expedition. He said it was'nt going to happen. They do have a concept but fuel economy and saftey would probably keep it from production. He described it as a "6,000 pound rocket". Said it handled very similar to the Lightning, and was almost as fast. He described the saftey issue as being the potential problem the Exp. would cause to the driver, not to mention the other driver, in the event of collisions (I didnt really get that one though?).
