Which side of the tranny has the code? I'll have to check mine out. This 01 tranny shifts way better then the tranny did in my 99 unchipped.

Drivers side. I did a search and the info on J1 failures seems to be...Inaccurate.

 

It has already been posted that the J1 problems are not true. No Lightning transmissions left the factory with the faulty diode.

So, no need to worry about your trans.

BTW, I think all '01 Lightning trannies have the J1 designation.

I think they shift great also..... firm and RIGHT NOW!!!
