Holcomb Motorsport sells Royal Purple for $4.30/qt. Wal-Mart sells Mobil 1 for $4.10/qt. So the price is about the same. I run RP on the Lightning and Mobil-1 in my Mustang. No preference one way or another.

Who makes a synthetic in 5W-20? I guess I will use Motorcraft until they make a synthetic in the recommended weight.

AMSOIL President and CEO Al Amatuzio is/was the biggest liar and scam artist of the oil industry there back in the 70's and 80's (and he still overinflates his product as of today). I, for one, would NEVER support that jerks product even if it was the best.

A side note, having a "pure" oil from one form of PAOs or specific esters doesn't mean it's better. It has been proven by many synthetic companies that combining the different types of base stocks w/ a superior additive package is more beneficial and far superior.

you may hate Amatuzio, but he just markets amzoil , he didn't invent it.His product is excellent, though and your entitled to your opinion, but lets face it, the major oil companies are ALL crooks! We just need these products and can only formulate our own R&D and hopfully choose what seems to work.As far as using base oils with additives, that is something I wouldn't do personally because of the inconsistancy of the additive throughout the base oil. There is no way you can have equal distribution throughout the entire engine IMHO.
