BEWARE YO ALL WITH KNOCKING AT START UP.!!!

Mine has been knocking since new and tonight it finally let go.

My motor is REALLY HURT.IT is knoocking very loud and finally went. Ive been telling my dealer since it was new about the noise and I got the ol 'FORGGED PISTONS" line. well its going to the dealer for a new motor friday or tomorrow.

this is what you can expect when yours is about to go.

Not to sound stupid, but what do you mean it let go? Rod through the pan, piston through head? etc. I'm curious because mine has been noisy at startup since new too. Did it have that infamous "diesel" sound? Please reply.

Sorry to hear this 'quick. I'd recommend they address the tranny issue while it's in for a new heart.

Not sure what you were trying to accomplish, but if I were 1.2 seconds and 17 MPH down from baseline, I wouldn't have tried to "diagnose" it by flogging the truck down a dragstrip. Just a thought.

 

Well,Ill tell ya what.If your truck felt
real sluggish and made rattling noises for a period of 8 months and your dealer kept telling you it was normal,what would you do?Ill tell ya what to do,You go to the track to check MPH.My motor has been rapping LONG before the truck ever saw a track,I can assure you.And for the record Im glad it finally went,At least I know what the problem is.There aRE many OF US WITH RATTLING BEFORE SHIFT,dIESEL START UP,AND LACK OF POWER. nOW IF YOU HAVE ONE OR MORE OF THESE PROBLEMS,You NEED a new motor!! Its not forged pistons,Its not normal and its not from abuse!! Its a DEFECT that ford knows about !! good ol #5 piston

I dont have any bolt ons on my truck,Mine is all stock

One more thing,I dont think my truck is a 'lemon" its just one of the MANY with this design problem.

 

The reason I knoew it was gone is because ,The same noise,I have always had at start up finaally got alot louder and never stopped No rods thrugh or nothing just a loud lower tap!
